Interior renovation and construction of a second floor kitchen and event space for Tacotlan, the popular birria restaurant located in Hermosa, Chicago.

The scope of work includes renovating the interior space and creating a second kitchen plus event space within their current location.

Tacotlan Mexican restaurant is well known for their birria tacos and community events. They are expanding their business by adding a second kitchen and designated event space on their second floor.

The Tacotlan expansion will give the restaurant more room to cook their popular dishes and host community events. BLDG Projects is the architect on record for the project and is excited to work with the Tacotlan team to grow their business in their current location, and continue to serve the community with delicious food and memorable events.

Construction will begin in early 2023 with plans to update and expand their front patio, back patio, first floor kitchen and dining space, as well as the new construction to the second floor.

First steps include securing a special-use permit to convert the building from residential to commercial.
